Cuba has a rich history of dancing and many different styles, such as Salsa and Rumba, originate from Cuba. We offer classes, workshops, performances, seminars, lectures and courses in a variety of Cuban dances, music and Spanish.

DCuban School of Arts prides itself on accelerated learning. Class sizes are capped so that each student gets an almost bespoke lesson with movements perfected, so they appear seamless and natural. We don’t just teach routines and steps, our emphasis is teaching people how to dance rhythmically by immersing themselves in the music and finding their own unique flair and style. AFRO-CUBANOriginating in Cuba, Afro-Cuban dance is deeply rooted in African traditions. Characterized by rhythmic body movements, expressive gestures, use of percussion instruments and spiritual elements, blending African and Cuban influences with vibrant costumes.
l ReggaetonReggaeton Cubano - A contemporary Cuban music and dance genre, that fuses reggaeton with Cuban rhythms. It is known for its catchy beats and fusion of urban and traditional Cuban elements
Timba CubanaTimba is a vibrant and complex contemporary Cuban dance style. It incorporates faster footwork, intricate partner patterns, and syncopated rhythms, allowing for creative expression. Timba combines elements of salsa with Afro-Cuban and jazz influences.

RUMBAA Cuban dance with African influences, featuring sensual hip movements, intrincate footwork, and improvisation elements. It comes in various styles: Yambú (slow or "cadencioso") , Guaguancó (flirtatious) , and Columbia (male solo) , each characterized by energetic footwork and expressive body movements.
Salsa CubanaA subset of salsa dance, Salsa Cubana is rooted in Cuba. It emphasizes circular movements and intrincate partner work, with a focus on interpreting the music's rhythm and melody.
Rueda de CasinoA Cuban group dance where couples dance in a circle and execute synchronized partner dance moves called out by a leader. Couples switch partners constantly in a dynamic and fun way

SON CUBANOA Cuban dance and music style known for its lively, syncopated rhythms, often danced in pairs. It incorporated of Spanish and African traditions. It laid the foundation for modern salsa music and dance
MamboOriginate in Cuba, is a fast-paced partner dance characterized by sharp, syncopated movements and pelvic movement. Mambo is known for its energetic, lively, syncopated rhythms and quick footwork. It became popular in the United States in the 1940s and 50s, where more energetic spins and lifts were added.
Cha-Cha-ChaAnother social Cuban-born dance style, Cha Cha Cha features a triple step pattern and syncopated chasses. It's a fun and flirtatious partner dance with a distinct "cha-cha-cha" sound in the music. (upbeat music)

Ladies Only StylingDamarys Farres styling class encompasses body isolation, fluid arm movements, posture and footwork. Emphasis is placed on music interpretation, connection and developing personal flair.

Performance CourseThis course is designed for any student wishing to excel in the dance world, the criteria is commitment and passion. Damarys unique choreography and elite tutors enable students to perform at the highest level.

Music LessonsCuban music is a myriad of styles and genres. We offer tuition incorporating varied styles of drumming, piano, guitar and percussion instruments.

Cuban Cooking LessonsFood is an integral part of Cuban culture. Therefore, learning to prepare, season and cook an authentic Cuban meal is considered an art form. We offer personalised lessons, so you can learn to cook with Cuban flair and flavour!

Costume Making LessonsIn 1950's Cuba was known as the Paris of Latin America. Cubans love to dress well! We offer costume making classes for anyone wanting to personalise their style, feel great and look fabulous.

Adults Classes and Workshops
Professionally trained qualified dance teachers, musicians and linguists ensure that students can track their development with tangible results, whilst learning about Cuban tradition and culture. The emphasis in teaching style is to ensure students have fun and leave each lesson/workshop feeling invigorated.

Children and teenagers
In addition to our courses and regular classes we offer after school and weekend classes for children and teenagers. Our sessions are interactive and mindful to complement key stages and concepts of the educational and vocational curriculum. For further info please contact us.

Course are divided in 2 slots each week depending if section is 1.5hours or 2 hours long , although courses are progressive, they are design for you to learn something new each week. Each week we will review material learnt from previous week, so if you miss a class you don't feel left behind.
***At the end of the end of each class there will be an opportunity to film* the dance routine, * record the music lesson learnt in the class so you can practice at home. At the end of the course the full dance routine can be performed in front of friends and/or family if students are interested in sharing what they have learned.

Cancelling Appointments
Failure to show up for a booked session will result in your forfeit of the class, whereby payments will not be refunded.
Private classes can be re-scheduled with 48 hours prior notice. If you need to cancel one lesson, you must do so with 48 hours’ notice. If you fail to do this, you will be charged the full lesson’s price.

- You do not need a PayPal account to book online, just use a credit card by clicking "Don't have a PayPal account?" on the checkout page. The bookings can be made with any regular credit card);
- We operate a ticket-free scheme. Your name will be registered on our list at the door. Please print your PayPal receipt as a proof of purchase. If you prefer to the a transfer please email us with your name and class name or fill up the booking form
- Please bring your student ID if you booked at student price. We reserve the right to claim the difference or to refuse access to the workshop if a student ID can't be shown.
