The venue is behind the building opposite the British Library. There is a “Premier Travel Inn” in the corner of Euston Road/Duke’s Road. From Euston Station exit to Euston Road (towards the bus station) then you will see St. Prancras church opposite to you. Walk towards the church, and then you will see the “Premier Travel Inn” in the corner Euston Road/Duke’s Road. If you arrive after 6pm the main entrance in Duke’s Street will be probably closed. In that case go around the building (if you stand in front of the main entrance you need to walk towards your right) and you will find the back entrance to the building in Flaxman Terrace. YANET FUENTES TORRES: 3x World Salsa Champion
Yanet Fuentes, aka Janet, studied for seven years and graduated with honours as a qualified teacher in Popular dances, Modern and Contemporary dance, Ballet and Folkloric dances from the world famous National School of Contemporary and Folkloric Dance in Havana, Cuba.
She also gained qualifications in a multitude of dancing styles including Afro-Cuban dances, Cuban Popular dances, Jazz and Hip Hop.
A dancer at La Maison Casa de la Moda in Havana, she is a three-time winner (2001, 2002, 2004) in the professional couples category at the Tropicana World Salsa Championships, held in London.
Between August 2000 and January 2002 as well as in 2005, Yanet was the lead dancer and principle performer in the hit musical ‘Lady Salsa’ (directed by Toby Gough).
Her television appearances include ‘The Generation Game’ (BBC), ‘This Morning’ (ITV), The Paul O’Grady Show (ITV) and as a dance coach for ‘Strictly Dance Fever’ (BBC)
She has also appeared in music videos for artists including Alicia Keys and Craig David.
Yanet teaches a variety of salsa classes around the country and performs in shows all over the World. She is also a regular special guest to numerous international salsa congresses
DAMARYS FARRES: Crowned Queen of Rumba and Afro-Cuban dances in UK, is a leading Cuban qualified and graduate dancer and choreographer. She is a passionate instructor and researcher of the Cuban and Afro-Cuban culture, dance forms and rhythms and is highly acclaimed in UK as well as worldwide for her charisma and her infectious energy.
She is renowned for her knowledge and passion for the Cuban and Afro-Cuban culture, dance forms and her femininity. Member of ADAD and Dance-UK, and has been nominated one of the best female Cuban dancers and teachers in the UK. Director and sole founder of The Cuban School of Arts in London, UK Cuban Salsa Champion, UKA qualified licentiate dance teacher and BA (Hon) Dance Studies.She is the creator of MiCUBA!...Seasonal theme Cuban parties in Tower Bridge, (nominated as one of the best Club night in UK), PURO SABOR CUBANO Master Dance & Music Workshops, 110% CUBANA- AUTHENTICITY & SABOR, specialized and structured courses for women, as well the BRIGHTON CUBAN SALSA FESTIVAL 2103 & Creator of CUBAinBRIGHTON Salsa & AFRO-Cuban Dance & Music Festival 2014. She has collaborated with the BBC in the role of curator, choreographer and performer in programs such as Auf Wiedersehen Pet, The Hour and the Armstrong & Miller show. Her passion for her culture and Cuban dance, especially traditional and Afro-Cuban dance, are the main motive for her to have funded The Cuban School of Arts – The Home of Cuban Arts in the UK.
Her passion and love for Cuban culture and all kinds of dance are manifested in everything she does. It has been said that ‘Damarys is a unique dancer, who captures the soul and spirit of Cuba in her dancing’; and that ‘Damarys affects everybody with her vital energy, passion and happiness!‘
