Join renowned Cuban dancer and cultural ambassador Damarys Farrés for a weekly Son Cubano class dedicated to the foundations of Cuba's most elegant social dance. Often described as the ancestor of Salsa, Son Cubano develops musicality, timing, posture, body movement and partner connection while deepening your understanding of Cuban music and culture. Whether you dance Salsa already or are completely new to partner dancing, these classes will help you build confidence, rhythm and authentic Cuban movement. What We Focus On Each month explores different aspects of Son Cubano, including: Son timing and musicality Contratiempo rhythm Posture and body movement Walking and weight transfer Traditional Son footwork Paseos and partner connection Styling and expression Improvisation and social dancing skills Understanding Cuban music and culture No partner required.
