This rich and elegant Cuban dance will improve your timing, coordination, body movement and musical interpretation. Son Cubano is the elegant ancestor of Salsa — blending Spanish melodies with Afro-Cuban rhythms and rooted in the clave. Known for its smooth footwork, posture, and expression, Son deepens your connection to Latin music and Cuban culture. ______________________ What to Expect Each 2-hour session includes: 🕒 Hour 1 – Technique & Body Movement • Posture, weight transfer, walking in Son timing • Hip, torso & arm coordination • Isolation & solo drills 🕒 Hour 2 – Partner Work & Application • Musicality & contratiempo rhythm • Solo and partner footwork (Pasos and Paseos) • Styling, transitions, short choreography • Optional filmed routine (Week 3) --- Week-by-Week Focus 🔹 Week 1: Musical timing, posture & Son basics 🔹 Week 2: Paseos, rhythm & coordination 🔹 Week 3: Styling, flow & choreo 1950s-inspired Cuban dress welcome (optional).
