Imagine finishing your Thursday, stepping into a room full of music, friendly faces and Cuban warmth, and leaving with a smile, a few new dance moves and perhaps some new friends.

That's what CUBAN NIGHTS – Salsa, Son, Rum & Sugar is all about.

Hosted by Damarys Farrés and the DCubanSchool team, our Thursday evenings bring together authentic Cuban dance classes, fantastic music, social dancing and a welcoming community in the heart of Finsbury Park.

Never danced salsa before? You're in the right place.

Already dancing? Come and take your skills further.

Whether you're joining us alone, bringing a partner or coming with friends, you'll be welcomed by a team who genuinely care about helping you learn, improve and enjoy yourself.

We believe that learning to dance should be fun, encouraging and rewarding. That's why our classes combine clear, progressive teaching with the rhythm, musicality, culture and joy that make Cuban dance so special.

And when the lessons finish, the evening is only getting started!

Come in, meet the team and get comfortable before the classes begin.

🆓 7:30 pm – FREE Beginner Salsa Taster

Curious about salsa but never tried it? Start here! Our friendly introduction will help you discover the rhythm, basic steps and joy of Cuban dancing.

7:30–8:30 pm – Cuban Salsa & Casino Classes

Beginners and intermediate levels.

Learn authentic Cuban Salsa through structured, progressive classes designed to build your confidence, technique, timing, partner connection and musicality.

8:30–9:30 pm – Improvers, Rueda & Cuban Son

Develop your dancing further through more challenging combinations, Rueda de Casino, traditional Cuban Son and musical interpretation.

Class content may vary according to the weekly programme.

🎶 From 9:30 pm till late – CUBAN SOCIAL & PARTY!

The classes finish, the music keeps playing and the dance floor comes alive!

Enjoy Cuban Salsa, Timba, Son Cubano and Latin favourites with our resident and guest DJs.

Practise what you've learnt, dance with different people, catch up with friends or simply relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

You don't need to be an expert to join the party. Just bring yourself!

🥁 MEET YOUR TEACHING & MUSIC TEAM

Damarys Farrés | Founder, Instructor, Choreographer & DJ Qbanita

Cuban-born professional dancer, choreographer, cultural ambassador and former UK Salsa Champion.

With more than two decades of experience teaching, performing and bringing people together through dance, Damarys is passionate about sharing authentic Cuban culture and helping students become confident, expressive and musical dancers.

As DJ Qbanita, she also brings her love and knowledge of Cuban music to the dance floor.

Anier Jova | Cuban Dance Instructor

Cuban-born dance instructor known for his energetic teaching style, musicality and authentic Cuban movement.

Anier creates a positive and engaging learning environment, helping dancers develop technique, confidence and a deeper connection with the music.

Daren Allen | Dance Instructor & DJ D

A valued and established member of the DCubanSchool team, Daren brings his enthusiasm for teaching, dancing and Cuban music to our Thursday evenings.

Alongside supporting students in class, DJ D joins our regular DJ rotation, bringing great music and energy to the social dance floor.

Our team is here to teach, encourage, support and welcome you — whether it's your first class or your hundredth!

Venue update: Cuban Nights has moved from Doña Arepa to Orleans Club. Our Thursday evenings are currently planned here until December.
