DCubanSchool Adult Dance Performance Course Opportunity

Are you passionate about dance and looking to enhance your skills in a vibrant and diverse community? DCubanSchool offers a unique opportunity for individuals eager to dive into the rich cultural, dance, and music background of Cuba. Join us for an exciting performance course that goes beyond traditional dance education.

Course Overview 

• Not suitable for absolute beginners, but all interested individuals are encouraged to give it a try
• Rehearsals every Sunday in Manor House, with occasional discussions for extra rehearsals on alternative dates and times
• Performances scheduled in festivals, clubs, cultural events, private events, videos, and international festivals
• Demo performance dates provided in advance for commitment

Joining Options:

Option A - Performance Team:

• £200 joining fee, followed by £150 monthly (direct debit only) 
• Commitment to attend all rehearsals,  performances and learn all choreographies 

Option B - Performance Course Trainee:

• £200 joining fee, followed by £150 monthly (direct debit only) covering trading and studio costs
• Train with the team; perform when ready or as a replacement for the A team.
• Flexible time commitment as a trainee

Option C - One Course performer:

• Price will depend on length and dance style of the course and needs to be paid in full up-front 

Additional Expenses:

• Costumes, travel, accommodation, and some festival tickets
• Monthly commitment covers training and studio costs
• Financial responsibility for passes, accommodation, and flights depending on festival / event budgets.
• Low-cost festivals; some may cover travel and accommodation, but personal expenses may apply

Performance Commitments:

• Participation in performances is encouraged, but not mandatory for every event.
• Performances include festivals, clubs, cultural events, private events, videos, and international festivals.
• Dates provided in advance; commitment to agreed-upon performance dates is essential.
• Attend all rehearsals unless exceptional circumstance are discussed previously in private.

Media Release:

• Participants grant permission to Damarys Farres and DCubanSchool to use their images, videos, photos, etc., for unlimited time for promotional purposes.

Damarys and Anier keep the course interesting, building on individual strengths and constantly improving the routines. This is a dynamic course where we incorporate different aspects of cuban dancing in each choreography. This means that each show has a very authentic feel and you will be pushed to learn and demonstrate what Cuban dancing culture is about. 

Like any project, the course requires commitment and passion but is very rewarding.  I have improved more in a few months of training with the demo group than I did in a year of classes at other schools. 

There is a sense of community and the group is tightly knit. We all support each other and everyone wants to achieve their best in the interest of the group.”
